The rising stars
Published Friday October 2nd, 2009

An event formed in 2003 to honour outstanding individuals in Moncton's technology industry has dolled out its largest number of awards yet.
A panel of judges chose 12 winners of the Rising Stars award - it would normally name 10 - and featured four high school students in its Junior Rising Stars category Thursday night at the Delta Beauséjour hotel.
Steve Palmer, chairman of the Greater Moncton Knowledge Industry Network and co-CEO of Fredericton's Remsoft, reminisced Thursday afternoon in an interview about founding the competition, six years ago.
"It was a cash-strapped labour of love," he
said, pointing out the awards are now open to individuals from across the province.
"With the help of the Province of New Brunswick and Enterprise Greater Moncton (among the sponsors) we've expanded."
