Saturday: One of New Brunswick's most controversial pieces of history will be re-enacted Saturday and Sunday at Kings Landing Historical Settlement. A re-enactment of a public pauper auction is set to take place 1:30-3 p.m.
The Lintuhtine Youth Choir's select group, The Melodies, will be in concert at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, St. Martins, at 7 p.m. Admission is free. A voluntary offering will be received. For more information call 833-4401.

In conjunction with the edVentures Fredericton learning vacation program is a free public lecture series. The lectures will be held Monday evenings at 7 p.m. in the gallery at the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design. The series runs until Aug. 11. This week's lecture is titled 'From Trinket to Treasure: Understanding Canadian Fine Craft' by Meagan Black, administrative director of the Canadian Crafts Federation.
Edith Piaf, the much loved French singer and cultural icon, comes to life in the 'La Vie En Rose,' the next offering of the St. Andrews Film Society. At the W. C. O'Neill Arena Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Marion Cotillard won six Best Actress awards, including an Oscar, for her portrayal of Piaf. A donation of $3 for members ($4 non-members) is suggested. The 2008 NotaBle Acts Theatre Festival opens July 22 and runs through Aug. 2 at four venues in Fredericton. Features 13 new plays by New Brunswick dramatists, including three main stage productions, free daytime street theatre, and free public readings of new works in development. Wednesday: Galerie Sans Nom, in collaboration with Film Zone Inc, will host Acadie Underground. Interested individuals are invited to register before July 23 to participate in a workshop covering the basics of Super 8 cameras and film production. The $40 registration fee includes the workshop, the use of a camera for 48 hours, a film cartridge, and processing. The films will be screened at the International Francophone Film Festival in Acadie in the fall.
