Iverson exhibition at NBCCD
Published Saturday October 31st, 2009

The Gallery at the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design, in Fredericton, presents 'Legacy,' an exhibition of works by the late Philip Iverson. The show, which opened Thursday, reveals the passion of a prolific and beloved painter who devoted his life to his craft. Iverson grew up in Fredericton, then studied at the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design before enrolling in a bachelor of fine arts program at Mount Allison University in Sackville. He later taught an elective course in painting at the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design before moving to Montreal with his wife Yukari Hazama-Iverson, a brilliant potter who also studied at NBCCD. Iverson died from brain cancer in 2006 at the age of 41.
This celebration of Iverson's work has been made possible by the estate of Philip Iverson, loaned to the Gallery by Ingrid Mueller of Ingrid Mueller Art Concepts, with permission from Yukari Hazama-Iverson.
The Gallery is located at 457 Queen St. The show continues until Nov. 20. For more information call 470-6524 or 453-2305.
