The Delta Fredericton ballroom was filled with the sound of ice tinkling in cocktail glasses and plenty of party-goers - more than 600 - wishing each other "cheers" July 4, at the Kiwanis Club of Fredericton's eighth annual More Than Martinis fundraiser. The event offered a range of martinis, coolers and other summer drinks for sampling, along with "mocktails" and other non-alcoholic drinks and nibblies by some of Fredericton's top restaurants.

The $20,000 the evening raised will benefit Fredericton Homeless Shelters and Chimo Helpline, a non-profit crisis counselling phone service, as well as a few causes supported by Kiwanis Club of Fredericton.
