Sports hall of fame seeks nominations

Athletes are eligible for consideration if they have been retired from competition for three years, and teams must not have competed as a unit for at least five years. Candidates in the builder's category - those whose contributions or achievements were as coaches, officials or administrators - are eligible whether they are still actively involved in sport or are retired.

Exhibition may be relocated

FREDERICTON - The City of Fredericton and Fredericton Exhibition Ltd. are talking about relocating the annual fall fair and Fredericton Raceway to a new location. Negotiations have been on and off for several years but the talks were renewed recently when Horse Racing New Brunswick approached city council to talk about the possibility of investing in a raceway upgrade. The city is working with interested parties - including city councillors, harness racing and exhibition board representatives - to develop a plan.
