Today

* One of Canada's busiest and best-selling comedians Ron James brings his new 90-minute rant Mental As Anything to New Brunswick with performances at The Playhouse (458-8344) in Fredericton tonight and Sunday night, shows at the Moncton Capitol Theatre (856-4379) on Monday night and Tuesday night and a show at Saint John's Imperial Theatre (674-4100) on Nov. 27. * Bare Bones plays live at 8 p.m. at the Urban Deli, 68 King St., Saint John.

* Marysville Heritage Centre hosts a country concert featuring the group Classic Country. Band members include Sam Johnston, Bill Stewart, Bryce Brewer, Keith Munn and John Jeffries. Special guests include Patrick Kelly, Erin Smith, Bliss Spencer and Bev Daley. Show starts at 7:30 p.m, admission is $ 7.50 at the door.

* The Saint John Arts Centre presents Jordan Stewart reading from his new collection of short stories Greetings from Gumdrop Mountain, featuring musical entertainment by Penny Blacks, at 2 p.m., free of charge to the public.

* Join Duo Cantilena - flutist Sally Wright and classical guitarist Steven Peacock - in concert at 7:30 p.m. at Wilmot United Church (corner of King and Carleton in Fredericton). The program will include folk and dance music in a variety of traditions, together with a few classical favourites and a healthy dose of South American music of the 20th century. Apart from the duo's own arrangements. Admission is by voluntary contribution, with proceeds to support the Wilmot United Church Benevolent Fund. * The Towns of Quispamsis and Rothesay host the 11th Annual Kennebecasis Valley Santa Claus Parade from 6-7:30 p.m. The route starts at Kennebecasis Valley High School, travels along Hampton Road to Clark Road, and ends at the intersection of Clark Road and Spruce Avenue. Remember to bring your letter for Santa and a non-perishable food item for the KV Food Basket, to be picked up by volunteers along the parade route.

Tomorrow

* Professor Squealy Deetbum, a leading Cycologist in the little known musical field of Cycology (a.k.a. bicycle music) comes to Imperial Theatre at 2 p.m., babies 12-months and under do not need a ticket.
