Get lost, Hugh Jackman. This year's Sexiest Man Alive is once again Johnny Depp. Depp nudged aside Jackman to get the coveted endorsement from People magazine Wednesday. It's the 46-year-old actor's second time as Sexiest Man Alive. He also won in 2003.
Kate Coyne, senior editor at People, said on CBS' Early Show that Depp has achieved an almost "iconic status in terms of sexiness."
Says Coyne: "Johnny Depp was someone who was sexy 10 years ago. He'll be sexy 10 years from now. He's someone who appeals to multiple generations of women."
Depp joins other double winners Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Richard Gere.
Matt Bomer, who stars in USA's White Collar, was named Sexiest Rising Star.
Fellow honorees include Ryan Reynolds, Jake Gyllenhaal, Bradley Cooper, Robert Downey Jr., David Beckham, Gilles Marini, Robert Pattinson and the stars of Glee - Canadian Cory Monteith, Matthew Morrison and Mark Salling.

Black Eyed Peas manager Liborio Molina has said sorry to gossip blogger Perez Hilton, but they haven't exactly kissed and made up.
An assault charge against Molina was dropped Wednesday after the manager issued a written apology to Hilton.
Molina was accused of punching Hilton - whose real name is Mario Lavandeira - outside a Toronto nightclub after the MuchMusic Video Awards in June.
Molina's lawyer, Mark Sandler, read the apology outside the courthouse.
"It said: 'I apologize for what I did on June 22 of 2009, even though you engaged in highly offensive comments, including a homophobic slur to my clients, I acknowledge that these kinds of issues should not be resolved through a physical response,' " Sandler read.
Hilton's lawyers said they were unhappy with the choice of words in the apology, but it was ultimately accepted.
"Although accepting the fact that he shouldn't resort to violence, he attempted to say that there was a precipitating cause," Hilton's lawyer, Brian Greenspan, said afterwards. "A sincere apology is a sincere apology."
But Hilton said in an email to The Canadian Press that he was pleased with the outcome, though he had yet to read Molina's apology.
"I am happy that Liborio Molina has accepted responsibility for his violent actions," he wrote.
"I look forward to reading his letter of apology and he and will.i.am can look forward to reading my in-depth thoughts about that awful night in my new book."
As part of the peace bond agreement reached in court, Molina has also agreed not to contact Hilton except through his lawyer, can't carry any weapons for 12 months, can't come within 100 metres of Cobra NightClub, where the event allegedly occurred, and has donated $500 to Toronto's Red Door Family Shelter.

A prominent entertainment law firm is suing Rod Stewart for US$3.3 million in legal fees it claims he owes.
Glaser, Weil, Fink, Jacobs, Howard&Shapiro filed the case Tuesday in Los Angeles. The firm has numerous high-profile clients and recently won judgments for architect Frank Gehry and television host Bob Barker.
The lawsuit claims Stewart owes for work on three cases, including one involving the singer's cancellation of a December 2000 show in Las Vegas. A federal jury decided Stewart owed the Rio hotel-casino $2 million for cancelling the show.

Ian Somerhalder is in two of TV's hottest show - but can't say much about either. Somerhalder plays bad boy vampire Damon on Vampire Diaries and returns from the dead to appear in the final season of Lost. Somerhalder says he shot the Lost season opener in Hawaii and will return "a couple times" while shooting Vampire Diaries in Atlanta.
As for spoilers, Somerhalder will only say that the Lost script was so detailed, it "weighed about three pounds" and that he wears the same clothes he did five years ago. As for Vampire Diaries, he reveals that Damon is going to do something that makes him "not as all powerful as he used to be."
