Bell Aliant offers limited time unitholder selling program
HALIFAX - Bell Aliant Regional Communications Income Fund (TSX:BA.UN) will offer a voluntary small unitholder selling program from Nov. 23 to Feb. 19 for registered or beneficial holders of 99 or fewer units as of Nov. 13, allowing small unitholders to sell all (not less than all) units without incurring brokerage charges. The company ran a similar program in late 2007, which reduced the number of small unitholder accounts and unitholder administration costs.

DHX Media Q1 net income contracts to $9,000
Children's television programming provider DHX Media Ltd. (TSX:DHX) eked out a small profit in the first quarter despite a 24 per cent plunge in revenue and a $159,000 impairment charge. The producer of Animal Mechanicals, Franny's Feet and Naughty Pets had net income of $9,000 or less than a penny a share in the July-September period. That compared with a year-earlier's $530,000 or a penny a share. DHX's revenue slid to $12.9 million from $16.9 million.
Fisheries
N.S. firm fined $800,000 for selling illegal tuna
A firm in Sambro, N.S., and seven fishermen linked to it must pay more than $800,000 for selling illegal tuna nine years ago. After unsuccessfully appealing their convictions and fines, the fishermen and Ivy Fisheries Ltd. have been ordered to pay up. The seven were all convicted in March 2006 on a number of charges under the Fisheries Act, including selling illegally caught fish in 2000. They appealed their convictions and fines to the Nova Scotia Supreme Court.
