'The Best Canadian Poetry' launches Nov. 11

Tightrope Books will launch 'The Best Canadian Poetry in English 2009' on Nov. 11 in Toronto.

The Best Canadian Poetry series features 50 Canadian poets drawn from Canada's literary journals and magazines. This is the second release in the annual anthology.The 2009 editor, Griffin Poetry Prize-winner A.F. Moritz, selected the poems based on their intellectual, artistic or inventive merit.

Among the New Brunswick contributors are Shirley Bear, Anne Compton, Jesse Ferguson and M. Travis Lane.

The launch, to be held at Revival Bar, 783 College St., in Toronto, will feature readings by 10 contributors: Jan Conn, Barry Dempster, John Terpstra, John Reibetanz, Karen Solie, Robyn Sarah, Shane Nielson, Cora Siré, Ricardo Sternberg and Matthew Tierney.

'The Best Canadian Poetry in English 2009' will be available from Chapters and Indigo bookstores, amazon.ca, amazon.com, various independent bookstores across the country and directly from the Tightrope website at http://tightropebooks.com/order-online/
