* Jeff Morris, Prince Edward Island's pop-rock purveyor plays the pedway stage in Fredericton at 8 p.m. as part of the city's Canada Day festivities. Earlier this year, he released Far Away, his second album. An award winning songwriter, he has shared the stage with Bryan Adams, Steve Earle, Blue Oyster Cult and Tom Cochrane.
* A full slate of day-long activities takes place along the Market Square Boardwalk and in the Atrium of Market Square in Saint John. There will be a flea market, a parade, a magic show, musical entertainment by Halifax-based rock artist Jon Mullane at 5 p.m. on the boardwalk and lots more. In the evening, enjoy Saint John Idol and fireworks over the harbour at 10:15. Call 658-3600 for details.
* Former Canadian Idol Top 11 Finalist Dianelys Hernandez (Dee) performs live from her new CD Crazy Love on the Boardwalk in Saint John at 6 p.m. For information call 672-7625.
* The Walk 'N Talk series presents Uptown Ghost Gallivant. The event begins at 8:15 p.m. Participants must pick up a guide to ghost locations at the Market Slip Lighthouse and walk on their own to the eight storytellers who will share ghostly encounters. In the case of rain, the walk will be rescheduled to the following night. Call 672-8601 for details.
* Every second Wednesday, weather permitting, the Brundage Point River Centre, 4 Ferry Rd., Grand Bay-Westfield, hosts an Antique Car Display from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This free public event will feature antique cars, street rods, tuners and motorcycles. Call 650-2316 for details.
* The Summer Noon Concert Series presents The Kidd's and Friends at the Church of St. Andrew & St. David, 164 Germain St., Saint John at 12:15 p.m. The concert features Richard and Janet Kidd with friends presenting an eclectic mix of music with special attention highlighting Canada Day. A free-will offering will be accepted.
* Canada Day Celebrations are in full swing at Mispec Park in Saint John. Events include a sand sculpture contest, a basketball loonie shoot, ball hockey tournament, face painting and more. A barbecue and DJ will run throughout the day. Call 633-5970 for details.
* Martello Tower on Saint John's west side provides a day of Canada Day celebrations. There will be free admission to the tower and visitor centre all day, cake, giveaways and more. At 1:30 p.m., there will be live Celtic music with Comhaltas. The celebration takes place from noon until 4 p.m. at the Martello Tower National Historic Site, 454 Whipple St. Call 636-4011 for details.
* The Town of Grand Bay-Westfield offers free movie nights in the great outdoors. Tonight's film is Finn on the Fly, Rated G. The movies begin at dusk at the Brundage Point River centre, 4 Ferry Rd., Grand Bay-Westfield. If the weather is poor, the movie will be cancelled. Call 738-6406 to for cancellations or information.
* The Belleisle Community Centre, 1648 route 124 in Springfield, hosts a Canada day Strawberry Festival, in support of the Belleisle Bears Community Sports Field, from 4 to 6 p.m. The Price is $8 for adults and $5 for children. Call 485-2574 for details.
