Saint John Arts Centre appoints Heather White Brittain as new director

The board of directors of the Saint John Arts Centre announced Wednesday the appointment of Heather White Brittain as executive director. Brittain will begin in her new role on July 6.

Heather White Brittain is a professional writer and featured arts columnist who founded and operated Art Pieces Gallery in Bedford, N.S. She is a graduate of Mount Saint Vincent University and studied marketing at Ryerson University in Toronto. Brittain resides in Rothesay with her husband, Jim Brittain, and her two daughters.

Brittain will replace Edward Phillips as director. Dr. Phillips accepted a lecturer/visiting scholar position at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville to be near his wife, who recently accepted a tenure-track position at Whittenberg University, in Ohio.
