Call for musicians

Sessions Café, in Rothesay, has recently announced it will close on July 25.

The café has been a venue for many fledgling and veteran musicians in the region, drawing such talent as Matt Andersen, Jill Barber, Ron Hynes, Joel Plaskett and Rose Cousins. It was nominated for for an East Coast Music Award in the category of best venue in 2007.

A final set of shows is planned for the weekend of July 24 and 25. Artists interested in participating are invited to call Jim or Toni Simpson at 847-1321.

The Saturday event, which runs in the afternoon and evening, will offer music interspersed with an auction of Sessions' memorabilia including ceiling tiles, posters and more.
