Rogersville to build public library
ROGERSVILLE - The province and the community of Rogersville have agreed to build a public library in the village, located south of Miramichi. The village and various community organizations will provide $50,000 for renovations, equipment and furniture, while the province will kick in $60,000 for the library's collection. The library, to be located at the W.F. Boisvert School, is expected to open in the fall. Initial renovations are scheduled to start this summer.

RCMP release name of victim
SAINTE-ANNE-de-MADAWASKA - Police have released the name of the victim of an all-terrain vehicle crash that occurred in Sainte-Anne-de-Madawaska earlier this week. Scott Paul Ouellette, 10, of Rivière-Verte, died in hospital in Edmundston as a result of injuries sustained when the vehicle he was on overturned. The accident is still under investigation. The RCMP and the boy's family remind ATV drivers, and especially those drivers under the age of 16, to always drive with caution.

Charges laid in Sussex fatality
WARDS CREEK - After a lengthy investigation, the Sussex RCMP have laid charges in the death of a woman last year in a single-vehicle highway crash that happened a year ago on Wards Creek Rd. Shana Lee Berryman, 20, of Belleisle Creek died at the scene. She was the passenger in a car that left the road. A 23-year-old man from Alberta, formerly of Sussex, will appear in court in Sussex on July 16 to face charges of criminal negligence causing death and other alcohol related offences. The man's name hasn't been released.

Exhibit features Acadieman art
MONCTON - Acadieman, the well-known New Brunswick superhero, can be found on television, the Internet, movies and in comic books. Beginning this week, drawings of Acadieman by creator Dano LeBlanc will also be on display at a Moncton art gallery. The exhibit, entitled Acadieman vs the fine arts, opened Wednesday at the Louise and Reuben-Cohen Art Gallery at l'Université de Moncton.

Police searching for missing man
SHIPPAGAN - Police are searching for 69-year-old Claude L. Chiasson of Shippagan. He was last seen digging clams in an area near Allée Edouard, Haut Shippagan on Monday morning. At the time, he was wearing a black and white plaid shirt, a grey ball cap, light-coloured work pants and rubber boots. Chiasson is described as 5'7" tall, 160 pounds and has white hair. Anyone with information on Chiasson's whereabouts are asked to contact District 8 RCMP at (506) 393-3001.
