WILLOW GROVE - Police in Hampton are following leads they hope will result in the arrest of the lone, masked robber who stood up the Willow Grove Convenience store Monday night.
RCMP's Sgt. Steve Gourdeau said shortly after 9 p.m. police responded to a 911 call for help from a worker at the convenience store and bakery located on Route 111.
A person of a small build and wearing a handkerchief as a mask barged into the small store armed with a knife, he explained.
The culprit left with an undisclosed amount of cash after demanding it from the clerk and fled by foot.
At the time of the robbery one staff person was working in the convenience store and a second person working in the Pizza Shack portion of the business.
"We don't even know if we're looking for a male or female yet," Gourdeau said. "We are following a few leads."
At this point in the investigation, police believe only one person was involved.
No one was hurt in the robbery.
Store owner Dale Mott was unavailable for comment.
Hampton RCMP is asking anyone with information on this crime to call them at 832-6600 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
