Halifax Gateway Council names 2 NBers to board
The Halifax Gateway Council has announced Joyce Carter, Halifax Stanfield International Airport Authority's vice-president of finance, the council's new chairwoman. New Brunswick businessmen Wesley Armour, left, president and chief executive officer of Armour Transportation Group, and Brian Murray, president of Fastrax Transportation, Day & Ross Transportation Group's truckload division, were both named to the council's board.

Forbes new president, CEO of e-services company
Jay Forbes will be joining Toronto-based Teranet Inc. as president and chief executive officer on July 2. Forbes, a former president and CEO of Aliant, had most recently been serving as executive vice-president of Ingram Micro, where he oversaw the company's European, Middle Eastern and African operations. Teranet provides e-services to the legal, real estate, government, financial and health-care markets.

Moncton convention centre feasible, consultant says
MONCTON - A proposed multi-purpose convention centre would turn a profit and stimulate the Moncton economy, IBI Group's Jonathan Hack says. The urban development consulting firm's 88-page financial report show a 9,000 seat facility would cost about $75 million and could be affordable with a public private partnership agreement. Hack, who says the study was Moncton-centric, estimates operating revenue could be as high as $650,000 per year.
