After exploring more than 50 venues, Gallery Connexion has found a new home. Gallery Connexion will move into the ground floor of the Chestnut Complex at 470 York St. in Fredericton. The approximately 4,000 square feet of space allows ample room for galleries, artist studios and offices, a performance area and a café.

Since the flood of 2008, the non-profit artist-run centre has been actively fundraising for new accommodations. The group has graciously accepted space at several venues such as the Beaverbrook Art Gallery, UNB Art Centre, Old Government House Gallery and The Playhouse since its homelessness.

The Chestnut Complex building has a history of charm and character. It originally housed the Chestnut Canoe Factory and, following that, the Chestnut Night Club.

A grand opening is tentatively scheduled for the first week of October 2009.
