
'Greek' makes its debut in Canada


Here's what's happening today on the small screen:
* The hit American series Greek, about fraternity-sorority life on a fictional university campus, debuts in Canada tonight. Kelsey Grammer's daughter, Spencer, plays the older and cooler sister to Jacob Zachar's character, Rusty, who enrols in a fraternity in his first year at college.
This first season has already aired on ABC Family in the U.S. In this premiere, Rusty goes through rush week at school and gets some dirt on his sister that could hurt both of them. (CTV)
* Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular features performances by Jordin Sparks, Natasha Bedingfield, Kenny Chesney and Katharine McPhee in New York City. Natalie Morales and Tiki Barber of the Today show host. (NBC)
* A grittier celebration is happening at the Calgary Stampede, which kicks off today with a parade, a rodeo and the Rangeland Derby.
The 10-day event will be covered by play-by-play announcer Jim Van Horne, former world champion bull rider Cody Snyder, Rangeland Derby analyst Les McIntyre and reporter Kristina Barnes. (CBC, Bold)
* Another group of ordinary people step outside their comfort zones and cut a rug on Dance Machine. The show pits people from all walks of life against each other in a series of danceoffs for a chance at winning $100,000. (A, ABC) * Film choices include Disclosure, a 1994 thriller about a computer analyst (Michael Douglas) who is sexually harassed by his female boss (Demi Moore) but is having a tough time proving it.
