  • BANNISTER, HAROLD A. - After a courageous battle with cancer, the death occurred peacefully at home of Harold Arnold Bannister, age 67 years. Born in Saint John, he was the son of the late Arnold C. Bannister and the late Marion (Naves) (Bannister) Carr. Lovingly remembered by his wife, Helen T. (Robertson) Bannister, children, Lisa Savidant (Mark) of Hampton, Andrea Moran (James) of St. Martins and James Bannister (Brandy) of Saint John, brothers, John Bannister (Joan) of Ottawa, ON, Willard Carr (Elaine) of Keswick Ridge and Jackie Carr (Dawn) of Saint John, sisters, Alice Bannister of Saint John, Arna Todd (Paul) of Vancouver, BC, Marion Clarke of Saint John, Marjorie Martin (Gerald) of Saint John and Elaine Skov-Neilson (Kurt) of Rothesay, grandchildren, Megan, Emily, Gregory, Rachael, Samantha, Krisha, Justin-Tye, Mathieu and Marlisa, several nieces and nephews. Harold worked for many years as a Stationary Engineer and later was employed with the Corps. of Commissionaires. He was a member of Glen View United Church and was active in the Monday night card games at the I.O.O.F. Hall. Harold enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren, he will be sadly missed. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday 7-9 PM and Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Glen View United Church, on Friday, September 27, 2002 at 2:00 PM. Interment in the Midland Cemetery. Remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. www.brenansfh.com

  • Doreen Dora Goguen 1928 - 2002 Doreen Dora Goguen, 74, of Shediac, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Tuesday, September 24, 2002. Born in Moncton she was the daughter of the late Larry and Marie Rose (Breau) Hachey. She is survived by her husband of 55 years Theodore "Ted" Goguen; two daughters, Nancy Hollis (Steven) of Dartmouth, NS, Lisa Fenton (Craig) of Moncton; three sons, Robert "Bob" Goguen (Lucille) of Dieppe, David Goguen (Sandra) Frankville, On. and Daniel Goguen (Joan) of Fredericton, NB; four grandchildren Steven, Amanda, Matthew and Meaghan; and by four sisters, Yvonne Poirier of Moncton, Irene Bousquet (Tom) of Windsor, Ct. USA , Corinne Hachey of Toronto, On. and Florence O' Neill (Dennis) Windstead Ct. USA; one brother Raymond Hachey of Edmonton, Ab; and by several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by an infant daughter; four brothers, Fred, Edmond, Arthur and Ernest; and by a sister, Lorriane Saulnier. Visiting at Tuttle Bros. Funeral Home 171 Lutz Street on Wednesday, September 25 from 7 to 9 pm and Thursday, September 26 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral Mass will be held at L'Assomption Cathedrale on Friday, September 27, 2002 at 11:00 am with Fr. Maurice Leger officiating. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Roman Catholic Cemetery, Dieppe, NB. In Doreen's memory donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to The Friends of the Moncton Hospital "Oncology Dept." would be appreciated by her family.
