  • Goldwin Douglas MacLeod PETITCODIAC, NB - Goldwin Douglas MacLeod (Gogi) of Petitcodiac, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2003 as the result of a motor vehicle accident in Petitcodiac. Born in Moncton on January 11, 1971. He was a former employee of Alward Contracting. He is survived by his mother Margaret(Mundle) MacLeod of Petitcodiac; two sisters, Eloise MacLeod of Moncton and Marva MacLeod of Miramichi City; two brothers, Evan (Ada) of Bathurst and Seldon (Christie) of Sanatorium Road, also several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father Herbert MacLeod. Visiting hours will be held from Armstron's Funeral Home, 33 Russell Street, Petitcodiac on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9. The funeral service will be held from the Petitcodiac Baptist Church on Saturday, June 14, 2003 at 1 PM with Rev. G. Cook officiating.   • Dorothy Christine Smith TRURO, NS - Dorothy Christine Smith, 78, of Truro passed away June 11, 2003 in the Moncton Hospital, Moncton, NB. Born in Saltsprings, she was the daughter of the late James C. and Mary Margaret (Cameron) MacGillivary. She was the wife of the late "Dick" Smith. In earlier years, she was employed with Bennie's Restaurant and Stanfield's Limited. She is survived by daughters, Darlene (Bob) Taylor, Moncton, N.B., Marjorie (Berry) Friesen, Halifax, N.S.; sons, Douglas (Shelley), Richard (Sharon), both of Truro, Bob (Ova), Hilden; grandchildren, Neil, Erin, Jennifer, Suzanne, Amy, Robert, Justin, Kandace; sister, Jean MacKenzie, Westfield, N.B. She was predeceased by sister, Emma. No visitation by request. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 2:30 pm in St. James Presbyterian Church with Rev. Clair MacLeod officiating. Interment in Crossroad's Cemetery, Valley. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Arthritis Society.   • Bernard L. Crosse Bernard (Bernie) Lloyd Crosse, 60, of Boyd Street, Salisbury passed away Wednesday June 11, 2003 at the Moncton Hospital following a sudden illness. Born in St. Andrew's he was the son of the late Herman and Fern (MacCullough) Crosse. Bernie graduated from U.N.B. Business and served twenty years with the Canadian Air Force retiring as a Master Corporal, he then worked as a development officer for Credit Union Central of New Brunswick , following this he was an Insurance broker and was presently employed with the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires at Nav. Can., Riverview. He served a term as a Councillor for the Village of Salisbury. He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 39 years Kathleen (Killam); daughters, Tanya Crosse (James Young) , Knoxville T.N. U.S.A., Trena Brown (Scott) of Moncton; cherished grandchildren, Emma and Grayson Brown; a sister Audrey Langerfield (Ralph) of Oshawa ON.; a brother Michael (Judy) of Nelson Miramichi,NB.; mother in law Florence Killam of Salisbury, NB; cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother Robert. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Salisbury Funeral Home , 3350 Salisbury Road (3724800) on Friday 7-9 p.m.. The Memorial Service will be held from The Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday June 14 at 11 a.m.. with Rev. Dr. Peter Sherwood Officiating. Interment will be in St. Andrews.   • MACLEAN, JOAN MARY The death of Joan Mary MacLean of Fredericton, wife of the late J. Roy MacLean, occurred on June 10, 2003 at her home. Born in London, ON, she was the daughter of the late Phillip and Elizabeth (Gordon) Hartley. Mrs. MacLean is survived by her sons, Ian MacLean (Beverley) of Fredericton, Garth MacLean of Toronto; daughter Kim Scruton (David) of St. John's, NF; and four grandchildren, Michael, Steven, Sarah, and Winston. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton North on Saturday, June 14, from 2 to 4 pm.   • STILWELL, EUGENE "GENE" STANLEY After experiencing a major stroke early morning June 8th, 2003 Eugene of Young's Cove, quietly passed away on Wednesday June 11th, 2003 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. He is predeceased by his daughter Cindy and his parents Stan and Mable Stilwell of Waterborough. He is survived by his daughter, Tammy (Tom), 'Grand' Daughter Crystal, granddaughters Ashley and Simone, his ex-wife Dorothy all of Young's Cove; brothers, Shirley (Ingrid) of Fredericton, Buddy (Marguerite) of Chipman; sisters, Lois of Waterborough and Yvonne of Sussex and many nieces, nephews and cousins including 5 sibling like cousins, Gordon, Ethel, Elsie, June and Doreen (predeceased), as well as many, many friends. Gene was an active member of the musical communities from many areas, touching many lives with his musical talent and consistent humoring ways. He will be so badly missed by his family and friends (both new and long treasured). Visitation will be at the Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home on Friday June 13th, 2003 from 2-9 pm.   • CHURCH, KATHERN ANNE The passing of Kathern A. Church of Fredericton occurred on June 9, 2003 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. She was 35. Daughter of the late Vera (Munro) Church.   • HATHAWAY, JOYCE The death of Joyce Hathaway of Mountain View Care Home formerly of Oxbow, N.B. occurred on June 10, 2003 at the Mountain View Care Home at the age of 86. Born in Upper Hainesville, N.B. to the late Nelson and Emma (Ingraham) Sharpe. She is survived by three sisters, Alta Dunn, Margaret Branscombe and Hilda Hains, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by husband Myron, parents and two sisters, Verna Hall and Leota Nowland; one brother Eugene Sharpe. Visiting hours Thursday June 12 from 7-9 pm at White's Chapel, Plaster Rock. Funeral Services will be held from White's Chapel on Friday June 13th at 3:00 pm with Pastor Leonard Cousins officiating assisted by Rev. Lorne Freake. Interment in Burntland Brook Cemetery.   • ROGG, MARY ELLA ELIZABETH Passed away peacefully Monday, June 9, 2003 in her 83rd year. Ella Rogg long time resident of Brampton was the beloved wife of Carl. Loving daughter of the late William McSorley and Catherine (nee McManus) of Penniac, N.B. Loving mother of Joan Lacey and her husband Jim of Innisfil, Ontario. Predeceased by her daughter Evangeline Jennings and by her son, John Poirer. Dear Granny of Lynn, Theresa, Catherine, Colleen, Deborah, Susan, Jimmy and Shane. Ella was the proud granny of 19 great grandchildren. Survived by her sister Evelyn Bateman of Toronto. Predeceased by her sisters, Catherine and Clara and by her brothers, Bud and Leo. Ella was recently predeceased by her lifelong friend, Margaret Allen of Penniac, N.B. Ella was involved in various church ministries at St. Anne's Parish, Brampton after her career in nursing. Friends may call at the Innisfil Funeral Home, 7910 Yonge Street (Stroud) on Wednesday from 2-4 and 79 pm. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Church, 65 Amelia Street, Barrie on Thursday June 12, 2003 at 2:00 pm. Cremation.
