LYONS, VERNA AGNES The death of Verna Agnes Lyons of McNamee, wife of the late Philip Raymond Lyons occurred on Friday, February 28, 2003 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Holtville, she was a daughter of the late Franklin B. and Udavilla M. (Munn) McKeil. Mrs. Lyons was a member of the McNamee Pentecostal Assembly and was the church secretary for a number of years. She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Storey of Doaktown and her son, Keith R. Lyons of Calgary, Alberta; a son-in-law, William Price of McNamee; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren; three sisters, Marguerite Fowler of Holtville, Geraldine Munn (Murdock) of Holtville and June Hare of Newcastle; two brothers, Clayton McKeil (Doris) of Holtville and Milton McKeil (Delores) of Fredericton; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Geraldine Price; a sister, Esther Carson; two brothers, Clarence and Sterling McKeil; and one sister-inlaw, Christine Orchard. Visitation will take place at the McNamee Pentecostal Assembly on Saturday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from the church on Sunday, March 2, 2003 at 2 pm with Rev. Cole Price officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in the Porter Cove Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Porter Cove Cemetery Fund would be appreciated by the family. HOYT, JAMES "JIM" CHARLES The death of Jim Hoyt occurred in Fredericton at Pine Grove Nursing Home on Friday, February 28th, 2003. Born in South Devon, NB he was the son of the late Murray A. and Edith (Bell) Hoyt. He is survived by his wife, the former Vera Carlisle and their three children, Murray of St. Andrews, James (wife Lesley Weir) of Campbell River, BC and Jane Kelly (husband Ronald) of Edmonton, AB. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Christopher Hoyt, Halifax, NS, Matthew Hoyt, Edmonton, AB, Sarah Hoyt, Victoria, BC, Andrew Kelly, Edmonton, AB and Robert Kelly, Edmonton, AB. He was predeceased by one sister, Jean and one brother, Earl. Jim began his career in 1936 with the Royal Bank. In 1945 he began work with Tractors and Equipment where he became Sales Manager and stayed for 38 years. He then became SecretaryManager of the Road Builders Association of New Brunswick, and retired in 1996. He was both a Past President and Honorary President of the Road Builders Association. Jim was always active in his community. He was Past President, Fredericton Rotary Club; Past Grand Counselor, United Commercial Travelers; Past Director, Canadian Forestry Association of NB and a member of the Masonic Order and the Fredericton Shrine Club. Visitation will be held at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home on Sunday, March 2nd, 2003 from 7-9 pm. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's United Church on Monday, March 3rd, 2003 at 2:00 pm with Rev. David Fisher officiating. Interment will take place in the Forest Hill Cemetery in the spring. REICKER, SHARON ROSALIE The funeral of Sharon R. Reicker of Newport Crescent was held from Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home where the service was conducted by Rev. Tedd Paw. The organist & soloist was Mr. Barry Snodgrass. The eulogy was given by Donna Moore. Rev. Arthur Murray was present in the congregation. The honorary pallbearers were Dave Hansen, Mike Freigy, Dwight Allaby, Gene Collins, Vernon Reicker, Mark Reicker, Jim McLean and Don Moore. The active pallbearers were Doug Reicker, Daryl Reicker, Byron Thomas, Bill McIntyre, George Barnes and Donald Fitzpatrick. The family received many floral and spiritual tributes including those from Staff of The Great Canadian Dollar Store, Hampton; Great Canadian Dollar Store; Students of École Millidgeville North School. Remembrances were placed for Main Street Baptist Church; New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation; Hon. Nancy Elizabeth Clark Teed Charitable Foundation; Portland United Church from The Young Teens Sunday School Class and The Sunday School; Portland United Church Scholarship Fund; Romero House Soup Kitchen; Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation; Canadian Cancer Society from Friends & Neighbors at Veteran's Court, Staff of Dr. D.A. Fitzpatrick, Management & Staff of Brookville Carriers Van; The Boys & Girls Club of Saint John Inc.; Saint John School Milk Fund; The Canadian Kidney Foundation; Hospice of Saint John Inc.; VON (Saint John) Inc.; Linden Health Science Center; Community Autism Centre Inc; London Health Science Centre; Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation; and Narrows United Church. Interment took place in Fernhill Cemetery. Sharon's family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to family and friends for donations, support, and sympathies.
