There were two little white birds at our feeders in Red Head from Oct. 9 to 14. They were almost pure white. The pictures do not do them justice. Dianne Fox, Saint JohnA beautiful bird! Its a near-albino but the eye is dark, making it a leucistic individual, lacking most but not all of its dark pigments. A true albino would have pink eyes and other bare body parts. Judging by the birds shape and proportions it is certainly a sparrow, and characteristically, its feeding on the ground. I would guess its either a song sparrow or a dark-eyed junco and noting what appears to be faint body streaking, I would bet on song sparrow. Jim Wilson
