Bottle drive
Students raising money for trip
DEER ISLAND - The Deer Island Community School's Grade 8 class will be holding a bottle drive on Friday to raise money for its class trip. The students are asking community members to place rinsed bottles and cans by their driveways by 12:30 p.m. on Friday, or drop off the items at the school until 2 p.m. on Friday. The class is also trying to collect items for the Deer Island Food Bank and is asking community members to leave any non-perishable items with the bottles. For more information, please call 747-2079.
Fundraiser
County collaborates on cancer walk
ST. STEPHEN - The sixth annual Walk Cause We Care will be held this Saturday. The walk raises money for Charlotte County Cancer and will begin at 11 a.m. at three different locations in the county. Walks will be held in St. Andrews, starting at the Kingsbrae Gardens; in St. Stephen, starting at the Knights of Columbus Hall; and in St. George, beginning at Fundy Regional High School. Documentary features artist
ST. ANDREWS - The St. Andrews Film Society will present the documentary Heartland this Sunday. The film explores the life and work of American artist Bo Bartlett, whose paintings celebrate the underlying epic nature of the commonplace and personal significance of the extraordinary.
