There was a golden glow to the grand ballroom at the Delta Fredericton Oct. 17, as a sold-out crowd celebrated the Beaverbrook Art Gallery's 50th anniversary with a gala ball. The Golden Ball is the highlight of the gallery's year-long anniversary festivities. The evening's entertainment was provided by the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra String Quartet, MC Marshall Button, and the Theatre Saint Thomas. Tom Forrestall's Golden Ball Commemorative Print was presented, and David Silcox, president of Sotheby's Canada, was guest auctioneer for the live auction. The crowd danced the night way to jazz music by Daniel Matto.
