Saint John Board of Trade's splashy event

The waterfront had a distinctly tropical feel May 22, when the Saint John Board of Trade hosted a cruise-themed party.

For the first year in its four-year history, Big Splash on the Waterfront was held in the new cruise ship terminal, which officially opened June 8. Along with tropical drinks and leis, there was entertainment by Tradition and host Tim Maloney. Premier Shawn Graham delivered the keynote address, and there were speeches by real estate developer John Rocca, tourism marketing executive Gail Bremner, and Stephen Campbell, chairman of the Saint John Port Authority.
