Insecte sightings

On Oct. 19 the Beaverbrook Art Gallery in Fredericton opened Insecte, an exhibition of paintings and bricolage sculpture by four Edmundston artists - Éveline Gallant Fournier, Elisabeth Hubault, Vicky Lentz and Christian Michaud.

Terry Graff, the gallery's curator and deputy director, said this exhibition "reflects on the perception, value and multiple meanings of insects in our daily lives. It encourages contemplation of their integral and influential place in human culture, as revealed in history, mythology, philosophy, religion, and the arts."

The exhibition continues until Jan. 4, 2009.
