Andrea Lindsay, left, and Nathalie Renault come to Saint John on Nov. 22 to wrap up the pan-Canadian Coup de coeur francophone Serie.

Lindsay hails from Guelph, Ont. and though her first language is English she fell in love with French during a trip to France. Artists like Serge Gainsbourg, Georges Brassens and Françoise Hardy won her heart over to the sweet sounds of the language of love. Lindsay's charm and soft voice, along with her light and catchy melodies enchant audiences from the top. It is not surprising that the Regroupement des radios francophones publiques (RFP or Francophone Public Radio Group), which oversees French-language radio in Canada, Belgium, France and Switzerland and has a listening audience of over 75 million people, fell in love with Lindsay and named her their French-language discovery artist for the months of November and December. Her style, which is reminiscent of Vanessa Paradis with a hint of Feist, is likely not foreign to them.

She will share the stage with Renault, a singer-songwriter who takes her audience to a place where Jazz meets Pop in the most enticing manner. She uses her piano, her intimate sound and her exceptional voice, which is both warm and powerful, to enchant her audience.

Over the years this pianist and singer from Campbellton has crisscrossed Quebec, New Brunswick and Europe. She has shared the stage with some of the great names of French song, including Daniel Bélanger, Zachary Richard, Nanette Workman, Karen Young and Claude Léveillée. Besides singing her own compositions, she also puts music to the work of other talented lyricists, whose work is carefully chosen, such as Jules Boudreau.

Don't miss this all-girl night. It is sure to be both a unique and a lively evening set to the sounds of voice, piano and guitar. Get your tickets by calling 658-4600.
