SAINT JOHN - The cocaine trafficking trial of 44-year-old Donna Fillmore of Brown Street has been rescheduled to 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 4 in order to allow the drug section of the city's police force more time to interview a witness.

Fillmore was to have gone on trial Tuesday before provincial court Judge William McCarroll. She is facing a charge of possession of crack cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and a charge of breach of probation.

She is one of three people arrested by city police following a Dec. 4 drug raid on the Duke Street apartment of Linda Gail Peters, who was later cleared of all charges.

The Crown originally charged Peters with trafficking in cocaine, as well as the less-serious charge of possession of the drug Dilaudid, but later withdrew both charges.

Her son, Donald Murray Peters, received a 36-month penitentiary term on Dec. 11 after pleading guilty to a charge of possession of crack cocaine. That was on top of 30 days in jail Peters got earlier after he pleaded guilty to two charges of possession of drugs. He pleaded guilty to both charges.

During his Dec. 11 appearance, the court heard the drugs seized during the raid had a street value of $5,700.
