147 SPIRITS

147 SPIRITS

Pro 16:2 All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits.

One of the dictionary meanings of the word spirit is; the real meaning or intent.

The spirit world is not seen with the naked eye but can be understood by the actions and the intent for those actions by a physical being. [Most animal actions are instinctive and not thought out with understanding.]

God, people and angels have been given the power to think and change their spirit in any situation that comes to them. We can use anger, fear or unconcern about anything that we see or experience. An angry man waives a gun and then kills himself; we can feel sadness that a living thing is dead, relief that he didn’t hurt anyone else or anger that he was able to get a gun in the first place; the choice is ours. The most popular choice is not always the right one.

Those that chose to be happy at vengeance are wrong and some of those that chose to be sad at a sick child that goes home to be with God, have made the wrong choice of spirits to display.

What the bible called a bad spirit is widely accepted today as independent thinking. We have rallies where speakers get up and shout harsh things about those that God has put in authority in our governments and law enforcers and agree with them; when this was done to Jesus, He ordered the bad spirit out of the person.

Loud and boastful bad spirits in people are trying to gather others to follow them and are using this way to do it. It doesn’t matter weather the cause is good or bad, the way it is done is very important to God because, if we love Him, the way we do it is more important than what is done. He wants us to trust Him and do it His way and let Him bring the results that He wants done.

There are many bad and evil spirits in the population that are operating in the guise of doing good; getting masses of people to support them in their cause to distract those people into disobedience to God while thinking that they are doing God’s work. [Paul went about killing Christians, at first, thinking that he was helping God until Jesus stopped him.]

We cannot see the bad and evil spirits but the bible tells us to know them and test them; 1Jo 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Many of us may not know how to use the authority that God has given His people over these spirits but the scripture says;

Jam 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

This resistance does not mean that you have to get angry and rebuke someone with a bad spirit; just turning and walking away speaks volumes and not agreeing with them sends them a message that cannot be ignored.

People may want to keep their bad spirits and use them but those people and those spirits will not make it into God’s kingdom so be careful what spirit you decide to take on and use; it might become too much of a liability to you.

Blog: Always Learning

Hi. I am Stephen Porter; a Christian who is also a normal everyday working person. I have been a Christian for over 30 years. God has gone to a great deal of trouble to let us know Him intimately and to help us understand His way of doing things, so this blog is simply my attempt to help you know and understand God in today's ordinary world. I will not argue with anyone but I will try to expand on your understanding by answering as many questions as my time will allow.
