
Kreviazuk headlines Sackville festival

A three-day festival in Sackville this month celebrates Canada's finest singer-songwriters.
Chantal Kreviazuk, Gordie Sampson, Bruce Guthro, Catherine MacLellan, Jill Barber, Meaghan Smith, Rob Lutes, Rick Haworth, Hot Toddy, Joel Plaskett and Ron Sexsmith will descend on Sackville for the Songs on Stage Festival from Oct. 23 to 25.
Kreviazuk and Sampson kick things off on Oct. 23 at Convocation Hall on the Mount Alison University campus at 8 p.m.
Guthro hosts the Maritime Songwriters Circle at the Sackville United Church on Oct. 24, featuring MacLellan, Barber and Smith.
On Oct. 25, Lutes conducts a two-hour workshop on songwriting and Haworth provides demonstrations and technical advice on acoustic guitar and lap steel guitar.

To cap off the weekend, a concert featuring Plaskett and Sexsmith takes place at Convocation Hall at 8 p.m. on Oct. 25.
