THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 4, 7 p.m., Evening prayer at St. Vincent's Chapel, 31 Cliff Street, Saint John. Instrumental music begins at 6:40 with prayer from 7 to 7:30. Please call ahead at 634-4970 for ramp access.
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 5, 4:30 to 6 p.m., Salad, ham and strawberry shortcake supper at All Saints Church, 40 Park Ave., East Saint John. Tickets are $8 for adults, $4 for children under 12. Menu includes ham, potato salad, beans, cole slaw, tomatoes, brown bread and strawberry shortcake for dessert.

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 7, 5:30 p.m., Fundraising event for Carleton-Kirk Lodge nursing home. A dinner theatre and auction will be held at the Phoenix Dinner Theatre, Exmouoth Street, Saint John. Seating 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $50 and will include a three-course dinner, a musical comedy show Goin' to the Chapel, and an auction. All money raised will support the refurbishment of the resident lodge.
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 3 to 5 p.m., St. Anthony's fall supper at Central Kings Rec Centre, Titusville Road, Upham. Featuring roast beef dinner with all the trimmings, bake and craft table. Adults $9, children $4, family rate $25.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 5 p.m., Stella Maris Church, Bayside Drive, Saint John will hold a Live/Silent auction. Tickets are $5 and include a light lunch. all tickets will be pre-sold. Call 633-0288 or 634-7975. The church hall is wheelchair accessible.
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 24, 7 p.m., Creation Ministries tour at Moncton Faith Victory Church, 229 Collishaw St., Moncton. Creation Ministries present challenging, illustrated talks on the relevance of Genesis to the gospel, society, evangelism and church growth.
EVERY SECOND MONDAY from 7 to 9 p.m. Healing Rooms located in the Romero House, 647-649 Brunswick Drive. People are waiting to pray for the sick. Next session is Sept 1.
ONGOING, The Saint John Jewish Historical Museum is open for its 23rd summer season. The museum will remain open until Oct. 31. New exhibits include "Celebrating 150 years of Jewish History in Saint John" and "Jewish Holocaust Study Group, 2008." Regular hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays in August from 1 to 4 p.m. Closed all Saturdays and for Jewish holidays (Sept 30, Oct. 1, 9, 14, 15, 21 and 22).
